A Bali honeymoon comes down to two decisions: how many bases you take, and whether the money goes into the villa or into the flights. Settle those and the rest of the island arranges itself around them.
The split that works for most couples is Ubud first, then the coast. Ubud is the inland, green half of the island — the Tegallalang rice terraces, the Campuhan ridge walk before the heat arrives, Tirta Empul, and the Mount Batur sunrise trek if a 2am start appeals once in a lifetime. You then move south to Seminyak or the Bukit peninsula for the half people actually picture when they say honeymoon: a private pool villa, a floating breakfast, the Kecak fire dance at Uluwatu and dinner on the cliff after it. That is one transfer between two properties. Three bases in seven nights means a full day of the holiday spent in a car, because Ubud to Seminyak is 35 km and ninety minutes.
Timing changes the trip more than couples expect. May, June and September sit inside the dry season but outside the July–August peak: dry evenings, beach clubs open, villas well below high-season rates. March brings Nyepi, the Balinese day of silence, when the island closes completely for twenty-four hours — airport included. It is either a remarkable thing to witness or a lost day, depending entirely on whether you planned around it.
On budget, the villa is the single largest lever. Three nights in a private pool villa rather than seven is a swing of ₹50,000 to ₹70,000 for a couple, and it is the decision most people leave until last. Flights are the second lever: booking eight to ten weeks out rather than three routinely saves ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 each on the one-stop routings through Kuala Lumpur, Singapore or Bangkok.

What to settle before you book
Three things, in this order: the month, the length, and the villa. Bali’s dry season runs April to September, and the best time to visit Bali guide sets out what each month actually delivers, Nyepi included. Seven nights is the standard length, and how many days you need in Bali covers what a tenth night in Sidemen or Amed buys you over a seventh in Seminyak. The villa then decides the budget, which is why what a Bali trip costs from India breaks the total into flights, accommodation, transfers, visa and tax rather than quoting one headline figure.
If you are still choosing the destination rather than the dates, Bali or Vietnam for a honeymoon is the comparison most couples end up making, and it comes down to whether you want to rest or to travel.
