A seven-night Bali trip from India costs most couples between ₹1.4 lakh and ₹2.2 lakh in total, including flights. Our own seven-night Bali honeymoon itinerary is priced from ₹89,000 per person on twin sharing for the land portion; return flights from Delhi or Mumbai typically add ₹28,000–45,000 per person depending on how far ahead you book.
Below is the full breakdown, because the headline package price is the part of this that people already know.
What does a Bali trip cost, line by line?
| Item | Typical range, per couple | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Return flights, India–Denpasar | ₹56,000 – ₹90,000 | One-stop via Kuala Lumpur, Singapore or Bangkok. Direct services are seasonal and price at the top of the range. |
| Accommodation, 7 nights | ₹45,000 – ₹1,40,000 | The single largest variable. A good Ubud four-star runs ₹6,000–9,000 a night; a Seminyak private pool villa runs ₹18,000–25,000. |
| Airport and inter-area transfers | ₹8,000 – ₹14,000 | Denpasar–Ubud is roughly 90 minutes, Ubud–Seminyak another 90. |
| Visa on arrival | ₹5,600 | IDR 500,000 per person, 30 days, extendable once. |
| Activities and day trips | ₹15,000 – ₹40,000 | Mount Batur sunrise trek, Nusa Penida by speedboat, cooking class, spa. |
| Food and drink | ₹18,000 – ₹45,000 | A warung meal is ₹200–400 a head; a Seminyak beach club dinner is ₹3,000–5,000. |
| Travel insurance | ₹2,000 – ₹4,000 | Non-negotiable if you are doing the Batur trek or any water activity. |
| 5% GST on the package | ₹4,500 – ₹9,000 | Charged on the total package value under Indian tour operator rules. |
| 2% TCS on the overseas package | ₹1,800 – ₹3,600 | Collected at source, and creditable against your income tax when you file. |
Which decisions actually move the total?
Three, in order of impact.
1. The villa. Whether you take a private pool villa for three nights or seven is worth ₹50,000–70,000 to a couple. It is the biggest single lever on a Bali budget and the one people most often decide late.
2. When you book flights. Booking eight to ten weeks out rather than three routinely saves ₹10,000–15,000 per person on the one-stop routings.
3. How many areas you split across. Every move costs a transfer and half a day. Two bases — typically Ubud then Seminyak or Uluwatu — is the sweet spot. Three bases in seven nights means you spend a full day of your holiday in a car.
When is Bali cheapest?
February, March and early April, and again in late September through October. Avoid the July–August European summer peak and the 20 December–5 January window, when villa rates in Seminyak and Uluwatu can double and minimum-stay rules kick in.
What is not included in most Bali packages?
Read any quote for these four, because they are the usual omissions: the visa-on-arrival fee, lunches and dinners beyond breakfast, entrance fees at temples and water palaces, and the Nusa Penida boat transfer. On our Bali honeymoon packages each of these is stated as included or excluded in writing before you pay anything.
How much cash should you carry?
Cards are accepted in hotels, beach clubs and larger restaurants; warungs, temple entrances, parking and most drivers are cash. Budget IDR 1.5–2 million a day per couple in cash. Use bank ATMs rather than the standalone machines in tourist strips, which charge markedly worse rates.
Is Bali cheaper than Thailand or Vietnam from India?
Not usually. Vietnam works out roughly 20–30% cheaper for a comparable seven nights, mostly on accommodation and food. Thailand is closer to level. Bali’s cost sits in its accommodation: it has more genuinely good ₹15,000-a-night villas than either, and that is what people end up booking. If the choice is still open rather than the dates, Bali or Vietnam for a honeymoon sets the two side by side.
